2009 Chick-fil-a Bowl:
LSU vs Georgia Tech
Chick-Fil-A Bowl is a yearly college competition in football. It had a different name before this, as it was called Peach Bowl during its first year. Chick-Fil-A Bowl has been happening in Atlanta, since 1968.
The first three Peach Bowls were hosted in Grant Field, on Georgia Tech territory. From 1971 to 1991, this tradition was played in Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium; at present, it is now seeing action in Georgia Dome. Chick-Fil-A Bowl was initially conceptualized as a moneymaker for the Lions Club of Georgia, but due to lousy revenues, the Chamber of Commerce took over the reins.
Food entity Chick-fil A became the game’s sponsor in 1998. It was two years ago that this company became the sole owner of naming rights. Indeed, this competition has been making serious earnings for more than a decade. The multitudes of sold-out Chick-Fil-A Bowl tickets turned this athletic tradition into one of the most-spectated non-BCS Bowls. Chick-Fil-A Bowl also had the highest ratings, as far as ESPN bowl games are concerned (for the years 2007 and 2008).
The fans of the Tigers would be coming in en masse this New Year’s eve, as their team would battle it out with the Clemson Tigers for the ultimate crown of Chick-Fil-A Bowl. Both squads are renowned for tenacious defense, among other things. So buy your South Carolina ticket (Clemson) or Auburn Tigers ticket (or even tickets for another team), and enjoy the action!
